Bill Allowing Some Veterans Free Turnpike Travel Being Considered
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority is working with lawmakers on a bill that would make turnpike travel free for veterans.
The bill would impact more than 56,000 veterans who are at least 60% disabled. The bill could cost the Turnpike Authority an estimated $3 million per year.
The house is now considering the measure after it was approved unanimously by the transportation committee.
