POTEAU, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a police officer shot and killed Jaquan Derrick Diijon Thompson who, investigators say, was holding a Poteau convenience store clerk at knifepoint.

OSBI says a Poteau police officer and LeFore County Sheriff's deputy responded to the 911 call.

According to OSBI, the officer ordered the man to drop his knife and let the clerk go, but he refused. The officer and deputy both then shots and killed the suspect. The clerk wasn't injured.

The OSBI's investigation is ongoing.
